Veggy Malta tried out NVKED peanut butter.
NVKED produces two types of peanut butter, the salted peanut butter and the dark chocolate peanut butter. To introduce this product one should state that these peanut butter spreads have no preservatives, no added sugars, no palm oil and no hydrogenated oils (more natural). The added salt is sea salt (but for special orders the salt can be omited altogether). In the case of the dark chocolate peanut butter, vegan cocoa powder is added to the mix to create the different product.
I tried the chocolate peanut butter. The taste of cocoa is there mixed with the taste of peanuts. The product is somewhat thick and obviously less creamy than a commercial peanut butter (I guess this is a plus). Unlike other products that seem to induce you to want to indulge more, the NVKED peanut butter did do that. It also leaves a pleasant after-taste in the mouth.
Peanut butter is a source of plant protein. It is a healthy product to eat. Verywell states that “snacking on peanut butter can be an effective way to control hunger without weight gain. Why does it work? Because peanut butter provides a feeling of satiety or fullness.” This means that those interested in losing weight can use it to control and curb their appetite.
Research has shown that the moderate consumption of nuts and peanuts can reduce the risk of heart disease. Unfortunately most commercial peanut butter has added sweeteners and oils. This is not the case with NVKED peanut butter.
From where to buy NVKED peanut butter
The salted peanut butter in 200 ml jar sells at €3.50 and at €9.60 for the 400 ml jar. Whilst the dark chocolate peanut butter sells at €4.00 for the 200 ml and €7.90 for the 400 ml. There are free deliveries for orders over €25. You can order the peanut butter from Nella Grech’s (the owner) facebook page. NVKED also has a website.
