Veggy Malta went to Bottega Verde to have a look at their new 100% Natural and vegan range. As you know I don’t do many cosmetic and beauty products and for correctness sake one needs to state that I did not try these products out, given in general I don’t use female make-up, but can comment on the product features as stated by the company.
The first question I asked was, are Bottega Verde products cruelty free? The answer is yes. All Bottega Verde products are certified as cruelty free by LAV (Lega Anti-Vivisezione) and by ICEA (Istituto per la Certificazione Etica e Ambientale). Furthermore Bottega Verde is also recognized as a cruelty free brand by Cruelty Free International.
Now let’s look at the other aspects of the 100% Natural collection. It includes four main ranges which are lipsticks, foundation, eye pencils and a mascara. All of these are stated to be vegan friendly and nickel tested.
Let’s start with 100% natural mousse foundation. Bottega Verde specify that this product does not contain parabens, formaldehyde releasers, mineral oils or silicones. Also the ingredients are 100% of natural origin. This includes hibiscus oil, lemon extract and aloe all of which would help in the well-being and hydration of your skin. You can use this product if you are looking for a foundation of medium coverage with a moisturising effect. The foundation comes in four different tonalities; natural, almond, cappuccino and mocha.
The 100% Natural black mascara has a number of similar features in that it too does not contain parabens, formaldehyde releasers, mineral oils or silicones. It is scent free and should give a panoramic volume to the eyelashes.
The 100% Natural long-lasting eye pencil contains ingredients of natural origin including Jojoba Oil and shea butter. The eye pencil comes in four different tonalities dark chocolate, deep green, night blue and pitch black. Whilst the 100% Natural matte lipstick with Hibiscus Oil is a bright matte lipstick with an intense colour.
What does the Bottega Verde 100% Natural line cost?
So how much do you need to spend to buy any of these products? The foundation’s price is €27.99 but currently discounted to €16.99. The mascara is €19.99 but currently discounted to €11.99. The eye pencils €9.99 but currently discounted to €4.99. And the lipstick is €18.99 but currently discounted to €12.99.
The 100% Bottega Verde range can be found in all five Bottega Verde outlets in Paola, Hamrun, Sliema, Valletta and Mosta.
