Veggy Malta made some milkshakes with no (dairy) milk, using Valsoia’s ice creams and rice milk. These milkshakes are ideal for whoever wants a lactose free, gluten free milkshake or does not want to drink dairy. Yet still they have the full freshness of a cold milkshake bumped up with fresh fruits.
Bianco variegato Amarena ice cream milkshake
The first milkshake was done using Valsoia’s Gelato Bianco variegato Amarena. Take three large scoops of ice cream and add rice milk (or whichever plant milk you wish). Blend for a few seconds. Pour in a glass, add two more scoops of ice cream. Now put in some fresh blueberries and cherries and some coconut slices. Given the ingredients this milkshake is also good for vegans and vegetarians.
Bianco Cacoa ice cream milkshake
The second milkshake was done using Valsoia’s Gelato Bianco Cacoa. This is a mix of white and brown ice cream. So again take three large scoops mixed and add your favourite Valsoia dairy free milk. Blend for a few seconds. Pour in the glass. Then place a two scoops of white ice cream. Add blueberries. Pour on it some agave syrup. I placed a few bars of vegan chocolate in the blender and chopped them to small pieces and then placed them on the top of the milkshake.
Affogato Cacao ice cream milkshake
The third milkshake is based on Valsoia’s Gelato Affogato Cacao. Again same procedure. Slightly blend the ice cream with the plant based milk. Pour in the glass, add the ice cream. Get some bars of vegan chocolate and blend it. Drop two slices of banana in the shake. Sprinkle the chocolate all over the top of the milkshake. Finally add two slices of banana on the side of the glass.
One small note. If you are going to use a straw for the milkshake, please use a reusable straw or a paper straw. Avoid using single use plastic straws.
This month Valsoia has a special offer with €1 off all ice creams. Time to give it a try.

simple but actually a great idea. must give it a try ..especially this summer with the kids. Fantastic ways of getting kids to take more fruit.
Never heard of this ice cream. I notice the company is in Italy, so is it only sold there? Are you from Italy?
Hi Kari, Valsoia is an international brand (yet Italian). I am actually from Malta.
