Ingredients

Olive oil
½ Onion
2 tsp cumin
1 tsp sweet paprika
16g Coriander
4 Garlic
2 tbsp Tahini
1 Wrap
300g chickpeas (dried)
70g parsley
4 cherry tomatoes
1 tbsp Sesame seeds
1 tbsp Chickpea flour
1 tsp Baking soda
Salt & pepper

Instructions

  • Add the sesame seeds, chickpea flour, baking soda, and spices. Mix again, gradually adding water until a moist, paste-like texture forms. The mixture should be thick and mouldable.
  • Fill a small pot with 1-2 inches of frying oil and heat over medium heat.
  • Using your hands or an ice cream scoop, form the mixture into small balls, about two tablespoons each. Once the oil is hot, add 3-4 balls to the pot and fry for 2-3 minutes until nicely browned. Transfer the cooked falafel to a paper towel-lined bowl or plate. Repeat the process until all the falafel is cooked.
  • Serve the falafel immediately with tahini and salad (use the cherry tomatoes, rocket leaf) in a wrap or pita bread.

Notes

You can also choose to bake the falafel balls in the oven. Remember to flip occassionaly whilst baking.
