With the upcoming feast of St. Martin come all the good fruits and nuts which lend themselves perfectly to this recipe. They’re so easy and fast to prepare and make a healthy sweet snack for everyone, and a perfect sweet with tea and coffee. These are the simplest ingredients which everyone tends to have, however there is no limit to the varieties you can prepare. I am already thinking of trying out other balls which will include dried lavender, coffee, chia seeds, dried prunes, coconut … my imagination is running fast!
In a blender mix the following ingredients to form a sticky mixture for each flavour of balls: If the mixture is crumbly, add a few drops of water or your favourite alcohol (could be Cognac, Amaretto, whisky ...) until the ingredients can stick together. For a better consistency with shaping into balls, allow the mixtures to rest in the fridge for about an hour. Form balls from each mixture. With the amounts above I made around 40 small balls in total. Coat them by rolling them in each bowl of chopped nuts to easily recognise the flavours, and place them on a serving dish decorated with more fruit and nuts. If you are preparing them ahead, store them in an airtight container to keep them as fresh as possible. Enjoy!Ingredients
