Holland & Barrett – choose the good life

Veggy Malta popped into Holland & Barrett to see what’s inside this international health shop and natural remedies franchise that is also in Malta. Although they have 7 shops and 2 shop in shops across the island, I went to the Fgura outlet just opposite the church. Though I am advised they all carry the same product ranges.

I was greeted by Carla Florian, Marketing Manager at H&B, who showed me around the shop. Inside the shop there are over 1000 different supplements along with sports related protein. There is a beauty range including a complete range of Dr Organic. Carla stated that the beauty section is fully organic, free from nasty chemicals, parabens and sls free. When it comes to vitamins and supplements there is an emphasis on quality, even though the competitive pricing might indicate otherwise.

One should add that there is the odd item that any faithful vegetarian or vegan should steer away from. Apart from that, all the food products are vegetarian and a number are vegan. Within the home care section one can find a range of environmentally friendly products. For those who suffer from gluten intolerance and other allergies there is a wide range of products suitable for them.

Carla stated that the beauty section is fully organic, free from nasty chemicals, parabens and sls free.

Holland & Barrett staff are all qualified. All staff have to undergo in-house training which is part of the H&B Academy and pass three exams. This is equivalent to an A Level standard. It also makes it possible that the staff at H&B can give free advice to shoppers.

Where to find Holland & Barrett

Holland & Barrett can be found in Valletta, St. Julians, Sliema, Attard, Fgura, St. Paul’s Bay, Victoria (Gozo), and inside Go Sport (Qormi) and Franks (Mosta). They also have a facebook page.

  1. It’s great that H&B are in Malta as well. I was a big H&B fan in Glasgow and was happy to find them here as well.

  4. I personally prefer the Sliema Holland & Barrett shop as i live in the area and the staff are great and the shop selection is the best in the area. Convenient location, but most important is the choice.
